Our client in Washington DC is seeking a Java Applications Analyst to be responsible for the analysis, design, coding and testing of new applications or enhancements to existing applications using Java-based technologies, including Java, J2EE, JSP, XML, JDBC, Hibernate, Sprint, Struts, Servlets and web services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains web applications for major .Org internet site to achieve optimal performance.
- Takes corrective action when software /hardware problems are discovered.
- Provides best practice guidance to colleagues and clients during web project discovery and strategy phase to ensure applications developed in support of internet projects will be stable, secure, scalable, and maintainable.
- Ability to work 2nd/3rd level shifts as business needs requires. May provides off hours "on-call" support for production .Org web site environment.
- Demonstrates WORLD CLASS cultural attributes and behaviors in all interactions.
- Directly responsible to ensure .Org application availability KPIs are achieved as per SLA.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline PLUS 6+ years of Java development experience required
2. Extensive knowledge and experience with Internet applications, web services and protocols (Java, J2EE, JSP, XML, JDBC, Hibernate, Sprint, Struts, Servlets, Ruby on Rails and web services)
3. Must have a solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming.
4. Must be able to apply SDLC concept (AGILE methodology) and have a proven track record of delivering solid, robust applications.
5. Extensive knowledge of web development & maintenance & support (2nd/3rd level capacity).
6. Solid understanding of emerging technologies and web technologies.
7. Must be a US CITIZEN or PERMANENT RESIDENT able to work W2 to qualify - unable to sponsor Visas at this time
COMPENSATION/COMMENTS:
M-F 9:00am - 5pm
$53/hr (DOE) - Plus APR Medical/Dental Benefits package, 401k plan, etc.. - benefits available shortly into this contract (30+ days - starting with the 1st of the following month of the start date).
If an offer is made, a 7 year criminal background check and education verification will be conducted. Candidate must be pass both screenings to be hired.
