Web Server Administration
- The title of this position is Web Server Administration
- It is the manager's intention that this will eventually become a permanent position for the right candidate
Administers multiple Web and Application Servers and Web Server Infrastructures primarily on Windows and Unix(optional) . Provides requirements, design, implementation planning, and implementation of web server environments and operation of Internet, Extranet, and Intranet service points

POSITION:
o Responsible for the troubleshooting, tuning, administration and configuration of application servers and web servers. Provides 1st and 2nd level support by troubleshooting connectivity related to distributed systems and host environments.
o Provide incident and problem management for application and web server related issues.
o Responding to trouble-tickets via an internal application and/or through client interaction.
o Working with client on application and infrastructure build-outs.
o Creates and maintains Microsoft IIS, (optional: Weblogic, Apache and Tomcat) services.
o Ensures optimization and tuning of server, file systems, capacity planning and appropriate replication.
o Adds, deletes, and changes or administers software, and hardware on Windows or Unix platforms.
o Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills.
o Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
o Interact with non-technical colleagues and communicate issues in layman's terms.
o The support responsibilities include: 24x7 rotational on-call support, troubleshooting, incident notification and resolution, problem management, post-mortem analysis, and root cause identification.
o Interacts with and coordinates activities of cross-functional teams, including development, system administration, database administration, and network engineering and production support staff.
o Experience setting up and configuring a COTS product


REQUIRED:

o 3+ years experience with IIS 5 and IIS 6, (optional Apache, Weblogic) or similar web systems environments
o Practical understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Proxy Server, and switched/routed networks. Understand workings of http web traffic, MS AD.
o Thorough understanding of principles and methods to support Web Server and Proxy server Architecture and production E-Business environments.
o Knowledge of Microsoft SQL
o Knowledge of asp, asp.net v1.1 & v2

• RUM – Real User Monitoring Software
