IT Batch Support/Technical Analyst ( oracle UNIX)
Position Summary
Serve in a rotation with others for batch job management and responding to requests from the IT development team. Perform a variety of complex, technical, and analytical duties in the programming, operation and maintenance of batch, ETL and interfaces. Receives direction from Manager of Production. This requires close liaison with the entire IT organization. Excellent communication and customer service skills are necessary along with technical knowledge.
Responsibilities
• 4+ years in Oracle database development
• Solid technical expertise in problem solving, debugging by reviewing logs and checking the database. Close attention to details is required
• Take ownership and follow through with tasks until completion
• Communicate effectively with clients, on a written and spoken level
• Adheres to standards and best practices
• Ensure timely communication of work status
• Support emails, tickets and resolve or escalate issues to development and DBA teams in a timely manner
• Support multiple ad-hoc updates provided by development team
• On-Call rotating support (off-hours, weekends, holidays)
• Monitor job schedules and follow up with failed jobs
• Experience in using Autosys job scheduling tool is preferred
• Experience in using Tidal job scheduling tool is a plus
• Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting
• Experience with PL/SQL and stored procedures
• Experience with Oracle query tuning
• Hours: 10am-6pm
• Required to carry a pager
