Job Requirements
- UEFI and Legacy BIOS developer with a minimum of 8 years of BIOS development experience.
- Bachelor or MS degree in computer science
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong analytical problem solving skills and detailed oriented
- 6 years of Professional experience in Software Design, Development and Maintenance
- 5 years of C/C++ development experience
- Experience with PC hardware and manufacturing
- Knowledge of industry standards that affect BIOS (such as SMBIOS, ACPI, WMI).
- Experience with BIOS code development on various industry standard chipsets from leading vendors such as Intel, Nvidia
- Experience with hardware / software bring-up efforts and have authored at least two new features to a code base.
- Familiarity with Phoenix code base is a must, though development may be on a proprietary version of this code base (HP).
- Good candidates should be proactive in managing work including meeting schedules, identifying risks, and delivering high quality software.
- Desired knowledge of PC architecture, BIOS development (legacy and UEFI-Protocol-DXE-PEI), processor architecture, chipset programming, industry standards that affect BIOS, and busses common to PCs.
- Ability to use common software and hardware debugging tools.
Job Description
- Responsible for the design and development of diagnostic test code executed at the BIOS level using a range of applicable technologies (e.g., programming languages, compilers, assemblers, debuggers, ITPs, scopes, logic analyzers, and other tools) and state-of-the-art software engineering methodologies.
- Primary job responsibilities include the design, development, debugging, and testing of BIOS software for PC systems.
- Work with other groups to gather requirements, document required interfaces and understand priorities
